Although I wasn't with my family this year for Christmas due to immigration issues, I still had a very Merry Christmas!! We were in Liberia with Isaac's family, and I got to see all of the Costa Rican traditions to celebrate Jesus' birth! The celebration here actually happens on Christmas Eve, instead of Christmas Day. We went to church at night and then went back Isaac's sister's house to be with the rest of the family. At midnight everyone opened gifts, and then we went outside and set off fireworks! (Remember, it's the beginning of summer here!) The next day everyone was busy making tamales and family members came over all day. It was a very unique Christmas, and a very special one!
