One of the great things about living on a missionary base, is that there are always people coming and going! Currently, there is a is a Discipleship Training School group of 20 doing their lecture phase, a Discipleship Training School group of 18 that just returned from their outreach, a group from New Zealand doing outreach, a group of high schoolers from Montana on a 2 week missions trip, plus all of the new staff that are constantly coming. There are always a variety of people to talk to, stories to hear about what God has done to bring them to the mission filed, and of course the crazy adventures that people have had!
Since I am a people person, I love this type of community living. Things like cold showers, bunk beds and hiking to the bathroom aren't perks to this kind of living, but the good definitely outweighs the bad of living here on base!
