Saturday's act of justice

Every Saturday we are doing local outreaches to show God's love in the city.  This is a justice focused DTS, and so we've been studying a lot about what justice is from the Biblical viewpoint.  Many times when us, with our western thinking, think of the word justice, we think of a court, judge and laywers.  But in the Bible, the word justice is used to mean "love and compassion" or to mean "bring salvation or freedom." So, when we go and clean up parks and neighborhoods, we are showing the love of God to the community because we are taking care of their home /neighborhood when no one else is willing.  So, this past Saturday we went to a public park that has overgrown weeds and lots of trash, and we cleaned it up!  Here is what I weeded for 4 hours:

By the end of the 4 hours, all of this green that you see was gone, and there was just dirt.  The mayor came and personally thanked each one of us for helping to make a difference in the community.
