Surprise party (kind of)

Today was my first day back in a week.  It was a little tiring, but my class was really well behaved.  Today they were all acting like they were up to something, though.  In the morning they were counting and collecting money, and I kept hearing pizza toppings talked about.

It wasn't hard to put 2 and 2 together to realize they were going to throw me a surprise welcome back party, but I tried to stay out of their business so they could enjoy the surprise.  It was a really nice thing they did for me.

After I walked in the door after their computer class, the kids had decorated the room with balloons and confetti (ripped up construction paper) and they had quite the buffet!  There was ice cream, 8 pizzas, cake, chips, and pop.  They had me sit down and prayed for my life, asking God to give me great health for the rest of my life.  It was really special, and I could see some of the fruit of what I've sown into them as they prayed for me.  Then they all went around and said what a great teacher I am and how much they have missed me.  Some even gave me welcome back cards.

It was a really nice gesture from a class that has been so difficult!  I felt very special and loved after my surprise party, and they felt very proud of themselves that they pulled it off!
