The Encounter was incredible.
Yes, I know I'm a little behind in sharing about it, but better late than never, right?! 50 young adult women went, and wow did they get transformed. I saw with my eyes God transform every life in a REAL way. The got onto the bus to go to their Encounter with bitterness, resentment, loneliness, addictions, and they returned to the church on Sunday night free and full of the Holy Spirit. It was cool to see their expressions and attitudes change as the weekend went on. It became obvious that God was at work on Sunday, when the girls woke up smiling saying "Good morning!" as they had not even greeted anyone the entire time they had been there!
Before the Encounter we prayed for God to give us a scripture to guide the Encounter, a Rhema word. And He did. He gave us Romans 8:39 which says "Nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." After the Encounter, testimony was shared of how they felt and experienced the love of God. We saw exactly the word we prayed and preached over the girls come to pass.
And for me...
The Encounter was quite an experience for me. I felt like I was at Holy Spirit school learning to be led by the Holy Spirit in everything. It was very intense, and despite not feeling well I gave it everything I had. I started feeling a little bad on Friday and then really bad on Saturday. I had a fever than for 5 days and wasn't able to go to school for the entire week.
It wasn't like a vacation though, believe me. I think I've slept more this week than I have in my entire life. I slept non-stop Monday-Thursday. On Tuesday night my roommates took me to the emergency room because my fever was still high. They put an IV in me and ran several blood tests. Dengue and Malaria blood tests came up negative, so I went back to the doctor the next day for more tests to find out that I had the flu. I've lost around 8 pounds and still have a cough, but I'm feeling a whole lot better than I was last weekend!
I feel very out of the loop since I missed an entire week of school. I got lots of cards from my kids, and I'm actually looking forward to going back on Monday!
