Every Thursday Agape has a 5th and 6th grade chapel. This year I am the chapel coordinator, and so we are trying to make it a lot like youth group with dynamic lessons. Last week God put it on my heart to preach about salvation. Even though most of the kids claimed to be Christians since the time they were born, that is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible is very clear that at an age of understanding, each person is responsible to choose for themselves and not depend on being raised in a Christian home for their salvation. I talked about how the Bible says that if you deny Jesus before men, he will deny you before the father. I prayed for the students that the Holy Spirit would show them if they had made a decision for themselves to make Jesus their Lord and Savior. Then I said if you are not sure if you have ever made that decision to make Jesus your Lord, stand to your feet at the count of 3. I counted to 3 and was amazed as all of the 5th and 6th graders, but 4, jumped to their feet. The came forward very sincere, and in front of all of their friends confessed Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. I really believe that this chapel has made a huge difference in the past week. The students have now made their OWN decision to follow Jesus.
