In case of an Emergency...

I had a very interesting experience this past Friday. We did not go to Negrito because we are hosting a conference with a pastor from Germany. After the conference we went out to eat, and on our way home we a car that was on it's side. It had hit a parked car and flipped and there was a man trapped inside. We stopped our car and got out quickly. The accident was in a neighborhood, and so there was not a lot of traffic. Somebody yelled, "Call the police!" But no one new how. I was shocked. No one knew the emergency number to call the police. We called 3 or 4 people before we found someone who knew the number to call. He called the police, the ambulance, and the Red Cross. All of them have their own separate number. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. 30 minutes later the man was still stuck in the car and we were just standing around. Everyone decided that the police was not going to come, and they should pull him out themselves. The ended up getting him out of the car, and by the grace of God, he had no broken bones, only cuts from the broken glass. An HOUR later the emergency vehicles started to come. I was shocked that they took so long to come in such an emergency. But everyone just told me, that this is just how it is. "Remember", they said, "you're in Honduras!"
