I am currently in Waco, Texas because my younger sister, Megan, just graduated from college. It's really hard to believe how fast time flies, as I started at A&M and she started at Baylor at the same time. I am almost finished with the Agape school year, and its hard to believe that that was almost a year ago! To update you on life in Honduras...
I am still going up to the church in Negrito (the mountain church) every Friday night. It really stretches my comfort level as I am leading the youth group and preaching to a consistant group of 25 teenagers every week.
The little street kid, Juan Carlos, (that I talked about awhile ago) is faithfully coming to church. If you remember, he gave his life to Jesus the first Sunday he walked through the doors, and now is waiting for me every Sunday after service. He recently bought a Bible, and we are believing for the rest of his family to come to church with him.
The Tulsa competitions are this upcoming week, so I will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma from Sunday to Sunday as a chaperone and coach. There are 55 students that went on the trip, which is a huge testimony to God and His provision! Every night there will be powerful chapel services and our prayer is that no teenager will go home the same. We know that God will be transforming lives in Tulsa.
My everyday life is going well. School ends on June 5th and one of my roommates is getting married on that same day. She has been dating her fiance for the last 4 years (they are both Honduran) so it is a long awaited wedding that everyone is excited about!
My recent news is that I have committed to staying another year in Honduras. I went back and forth between going to a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) school in Costa Rica, or staying in Honduras. I believe God is establishing me in ministry here in Honduras, and so I will be staying. It actually feels nice to stay in the same place for more than a year, because ever since high school graduation, I've moved every year.
So, after not having updated for so long, here is the complete update, and you'll be hearing from me again soon!
