Unfortunately my blog postings will not be as frequent anymore because I no longer have a computer. Yesterday my house was robbed. They jumped over the wall, broke the lock on the window and came in. Soon after they came in, my roommate Karla went home to change. There were 3 men total, 2 men in the house and one man outside, and they all were armed. Karla, unaware of what was happening, walked in and started going up the stairs. She was stopped by one of the men and he put the gun to her. She watched them as they went through our things and took what they wanted. She had the gun held to her the whole time as they took her to each of our bedrooms. They then took her downstairs and tied her to a chair at our kitchen table. As she was with them, she told them that she forgave them for what they were taking, and what they were doing to her, and that God would forgive them too, if they only asked. She told them that Jesus loves them and has a plan for their lives. They said thank you, and were very quiet after she told them that. Karla was not hurt at all, but it was a very scary thing for all of us. For me especially, because nothing bad has really ever happened to me. I've never been robbed, I've never touched a gun, I've never seen anything bad happen.

Praise God that I was not there, nor any of my other roommates. We were all talking about how each of us would have reacted, and Karla was the only one who would have been able to remain calm and level headed. The Bible says that the steps of the rightesous are ordered, and I know without a single doubt that God orders my steps, and ordered them yesterday. This is exam week at Agape and so we get out early. We are allowed to go home at 1:30, and every day I've been going home at that time. Because my roommates have other jobs, I have been home alone for hours after school. Except yesterday. I had decided to go with Lydia, the missionary family's little girl, to see the movie High School Musical 3. I had been trying to decide to go to the 2:00 or 4:30 show. At the very last minute I decided to take her to the 2:00 show and not take a nap before. The robbers came at 3:00, and I could have been at home taking a nap. God is just so good to make some choices look better than others. I am so thankful to God that I was not there, that I did not see the men or have the gun touching me. God is so faithful to me, and I am very thankful to everyone who prays for my safety here, because I live here under God's protection. The things I had stolen from me were my laptop, camera, a suitcase (to carry the loot, of course!) tennis shoes, high heels and my sandals. Things were thrown around and drawers were emptied, but thats all of mine that was taken. My roomates had jewlery, a nail kit, some clothes and some shoes taken. For me, the things that got stolen aren't that big of a deal. Yes, I am sad that I don't have all of my things, but the biggest thing for me was that there were men with guns in my house. We are now looking for a new house or apartment to move into. We want to move before Thanksgiving, but it is hard to find a safe house in this neighborhood that is not already being rented. Please pray with us and for us that we will find a safe place to live very soon. God is in control of everything that happens, he IS a soverign and faithful God and I know that my life is in his hands.

Wow! I am so sorry... I was just looking back on your first post about your house and how you were wanting barbed wire around the fence.-- I guess that wasn't put into place. What a brave roommate you have. You are in my prayers!

Your mom said that your landlord was going to put up some barbed wire so that you can stay - I certainly pray that has happened. I pray that God restores to you 7 fold what was taken.
